Transfers are the reason people disappear
Someone booked into a county jail can be picked up on a federal hold, or handed to immigration, and moved out of state within a day. Each move breaks the trail in whatever system you were checking. It happens constantly, and it is the most common reason families reach us after two days of getting nowhere.
We follow the person, not the facility. Give us the name once and we keep checking.
Nevada
Clark County covers Las Vegas, Henderson, and North Las Vegas, and it is where the great majority of Nevada arrests are booked.

ICE detention in Nevada
Nevada has limited ICE capacity. The main facility in the state is the Nevada Southern Detention Center in Pahrump, about 60 miles from Las Vegas, run by CoreCivic under contract with a set number of ICE beds. When those beds fill, ICE regularly transfers people to California, Arizona, or Utah, and moves people into Nevada from those states.

California
California runs 58 separate county jail systems plus several of the largest ICE facilities in the country. These are the ones we deal with most.
Los Angeles County

- The largest jail system in the United States. Most people arrested in the county pass through the Inmate Reception Center on Bauchet Street in downtown Los Angeles before being assigned to Men's Central Jail, Twin Towers Correctional Facility, or another facility.
- Be careful here. Several of the highest-ranking search results for "LA County inmate locator" are advertising sites that copy the Sheriff's branding, and at least one prints a county copyright notice it has no right to. Use the official link above.

Other California counties
Every county sheriff runs its own search and the quality varies widely. Tell us the county and we will go to the right one. Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino, Sacramento, Alameda, Fresno and Kern are all routine for us.
ICE detention in California
California holds a large share of national ICE detention capacity. The facilities people ask us about most are the Adelanto ICE Processing Center in Adelanto, the Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego, the Imperial Regional Detention Facility in Calexico, the Mesa Verde ICE Processing Center in Bakersfield, and the Golden State Annex in McFarland.

- You will need the person's A-number and country of birth, or their full name, country of birth, and date of birth. People under 18 do not appear.
Everywhere else
Nevada and California are where we are busiest. Federal and immigration custody are national systems, and we take calls from every state.
If someone was arrested in another state, call us with the name and the city. We will find them, and we work with licensed agents and sureties to get a bond posted in that jurisdiction.
